There’s more after the jump!

The cover is supposed to be the intro paragraph, the advertisement, the tease that will lure you with its sultry looks. The cover is supposed to be the visual essence of what the week is about, and no, it’s not just about Prey– the cover story is supposed to make gamers see why we should care about Prey and the people behind it.

From the editorial standpoint, Prey is a game that has been in the works since E3 was back in Atlanta, and the technology has never really been good enough to match the developers’ vision. So that was pretty much the first focus of our brainstorming– to concentrate on the idea of time and history. I actually fell in love with Garnett’s original little dek line of “MODERN TECH FOR YESTERDAY’S DREAMS.” It’s beautifully nostalgic and Tomorrowland-esque.
